Effective Goal Setting
Happy New Year!
The turning of a calendar means many people are starting fresh and setting some big goals for the new year!
I LOVE a fresh start and I love getting to see people make commitments for a better life. Whether your goal is better health, sobriety, improved finances, or something else, everyone can benefit from some help with goal setting!
Here is what I teach my coaching clients:
Make your goal SPECIFIC
Make your goal MEASURABLE
Make your goal ATTAINABLE
Make your goal REALISTIC
Make your goal TIME-BOUND
For example, the goal “I want to save money” is good, but that can be hard to conceptualize. A better version of that goal is: “I want to save $5,000 in 2025, and I will do so by cooking 80% of my meals at home and cancelling unnecessary subscriptions” (specific, measurable, time bound, realistic, and with an action plan).
